Arrived mid afternoon..stopping at Cool Chill Convenient with Mark and Alison not too far from “downtown” area. Weather superb. Took a long walk around Diamond Head after the stretch up to the summit.

Mark was kind enough to take us on a trip around O’ahu, which is second in the Hawaiian island chain comprising Ni’ihau, Moloka’i, Lana’i, Maui, then Hawai’i (more commonly known as Big Island). we drove past several US military bases then on to the north coast passing several surfing beaches including the infamous “Pipeline”, boasting the largest and most testing waves in the world. Further on we passed the mountain range that featured in the eponymous film “Jurassic Park”.

The following day I was keen to see and pay my respects at Pear Harbour. Very moving and thought provoking. Tuesday was spent relaxing on the beach and the following day the bride and groom were due to arrive.
