Time seems to have gone by ever so quickly. Such a lot has happened. Not merely on a personal level but, internationally. Angela Merkel’s “open door” policy into Europe, terrorist attacks in Paris, Donald Trumps US presidential “run”. In the UK, it has been Jeremy Corbyn’s “stunning” victory for Labour Party leadership.(I don’t think anybody expected that). Personally, I’ve done a lot of reading. Primarily, in an endeavour to improve “my take” and understanding of Islam, Islamism, Jihadism and the age old clash of religious extremism. It seems such an intractable problem. However, Maajid Nawaz of the Quilliam Foundation, Maryam Namazie, Sam Harris and the “Godless Spellchecker” blog have provided some useful insight.

Whilst here, I also bought some paints, brushes and canvas and started painting again. Something I’ve not done for a few years.

Anyhow, back to travelling. Got a really good deal to get out to Tokyo for Christmas, notwithstanding two stop-overs on the way. So should be there by 15.12.15.
Got out to Keflavik at “Stupid o’clock” to catch 07:30 to Oslo. Almost missed my connection to Moscow due to late (35 minutes landing and poor immigration processing, vis a vis number of staff to deal with large numbers of people. Moscow connection, though tedious with immigration process delays went OK. Landed Narita International at 11:30am to bright sunshine and C12 degree temperatures. (nb. Iceland was -C9 at night).
